Just Keep Sowing, Just Keep Sowing….
As you may or may not have read, just about 3 years ago I decided to take a hiatus from my professional career as a consultant and educator, to focus on home and family, as well as reconnect with my creative side. A side which I unintentionally managed to keep hidden from even my closest friends for what turned out to be a really long time….And by the way, I felt extremely fortunate to be able to take the time off because I really needed the break.
In addition to very literally getting a message from above one evening after a particularly difficult and unrewarding day, I had been feeling this tug to get away somewhere–to paint–to write–to knit, but mainly to just BE in the quiet so I could hear myself think.
So over the past few years while I’ve been driving to soccer practices and drum lessons, de-cluttering closets and taking art classes–the usual routine for a domestic goddess, I’ve given much thought to what kind of job I want to do going forward. Double income household & lifestyle living on one to one and a half incomes only lasts but so long I’m afraid!
Asking and Praying Doesn’t Hurt Either
I’ve also been putting it out there to the Universe–praying for inspiration about what I am meant to be doing in my life at this time–outside of being the very best Mom I can be to my two children, that part of the purpose I’ve had down cold for a long time.
And just like Matthew says in 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” I got an answer.
In fact I’ve continued to ask for clarification and further insight and the message has remained substantially the same–
Back in July 2015 when I first got my oracle cards:
Express Love Through Action
Demonstrate Love – Act on what’s important to those you love
Creative Writing – Archangel Gabriel hit me right in the eye with this one: “Your soul longs for creative expression through writing. Honor any inner nudges that guide you to write. As you work with your connection to the written word, you may receive Divine guidance to write article or books for publication.
As the messenger angel, Gabriel loves to help writers and journalists deliver healing messages.
There have been other, similar messages coming out of separate readings from different card decks but all with the common theme tying life purpose.
So when I receive comments like those that have come in recently I really feel the messages I’ve gotten meshing with what I’ve been working on in a way that seems meant to be….
Recent Comments from My Readers
Here’s what I mean – a few of the comments that really touched me and felt like little presents given to me or a big hug from the person making the comment. These made me feel very connected to the writer:
Such a “comfy” blog. Sounds so peaceful.
In Chapter 36 of Exodus, God talks to Moses about Oholiab saying that the Lord had given him “skill and ability” to perform the work entailed in building the tabernacle. I often think of that when I see the beautiful art pieces that pull at my heart strings. Skill, ability, and God inspired. Pray that your Csweet Shoppe is blessed.
Thank you, Cynde! I’m smiling right now. 😀
Something tells me you get that.
Something tells me you get that.
There’s nothing so gratifying as being able to connect on such a personal level as to evoke empathy and a feeling of a kindred spirit.
I’d not heard of cocooning before, it is an apt description for depression and withdrawal.
I wish I had such clarity of thought
I knew we were gonna’ be friends and this confirms it
Thank you for being yourself and sharing your story!
This is beautiful and inspiring. Everyone needs a breather. We forget we should stop doing things or thinking about something all the time. Being present and mindful of every thought and action is a way to stay happy and content.
and one about my art…
All your items have such personality!
All of this has given me such a feeling that as I’m consciously pouring love into all that I do and writing from my heart as my authentic self I’m being rewarded with some pretty awesome feedback in return. I’m extremely grateful to all of you who’ve taken your time not only to read what I’ve been writing from my heart these past weeks but to also honor me with a comment from yours. <3
It’s been a good month….I’m counting my blessings!
