After Sandy: Safe and Sound in Northern Virginia

Witch sign blown askew by the storm last night

Went to sleep while it was still windy and raining.  Slept like a baby.  In fact, slept like I was in a coma or heavily sedated (I was not) and stayed in bed late.  Feels like it should be 9 or 10 a.m. but it’s 1:18 p.m. The back yard is pretty wet with lots of puddling in our wet spots.  FTWD has already run through them several times and gotten himself muddy.  No damage to the Halloween decorations out front other than my “Wicked Witch Lives Here With Little Monsters” sign is a bit askew.  We’re all thankful for no flooding, no loss of power, no storm damage to the house!

Here’s a photo of our angry jack-o-lantern, lol.  Jeff carves the best pumpkin faces! Image

And here at last is a pic of my fabulous, home grown pumpkin from the seeds of last year’s pumpkin from Annette & Jeff’s “pumpkin farm”.  The little monsters wanted to carve this one but I insisted that it remain intact!  Image
