Note to Self, RE: Avocado

Today would be a good day to eat that avocado I bought.  I can have it for lunch and then have that pit into the water to root before dinnertime.  The pot is in the dining room, all ready for me to plant another one.  The remnant that turned up after FTWD ate the last one I rooted failed to respond to my heroic measure to resuscitate.

  1. Sometime ago, i decided that i would eat an avocado a day. It’s the perfect food, right? It contains more folate than any other fruit; it has lots of fiber, vitamin C, etc.

But then i changed my mercurial mind: “Avocados contain so much unsaturated fat that they can be carcinogenic and hepatotoxic,” this according to Dr. Ray Peat.

Naturally i’m not trying to discourage you from germinating an avocado pit–it’s a fun thing to do. Nor am i suggesting you should never eat one–but everthing in moderation, especially when there are some red flags.
