Yay, I made it – I was starting to dread the drive up here but I pulled up my big girl panties and dealt with it. I’m AMAZED that I got here, almost to the minute, at the time the GPS said I would arrive when I started out! I forgot how totally IMMENSE the GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE is as you drive up to it – couldn’t believe I was passing my old Exit 9 on the New Jersey Turnpike and driving through part of Manhattan…….I love the Northeast!
Today was all fog, all day but no rain and driving was a snap – no traffic whatsoever…..can you imagine? If I’d stayed in DC and tried driving around, even mid-day I’d have hit some major snarls…..
I’m about to go to one of the opening sessions where we’ll be making sugar skulls……that’s right – can’t wait, I’ve never done this before….due to the upcoming .Dia de los Muertos we are making ofrenda tonight……
Thursday 4 October (Evening)
From the beginning of time, man has felt the need to explain the mystery of life and death. “To me it is about breaking down those barriers between the living and the dead and remembering all the footsteps that came before us” Michael deMeng said. So for our official opening we invite attendees to join us for an evening of song and aguas frescas. Together we will create our own Ofrenda and Michael de deMeng will guide us in the creation of some fabulous Sugar Skulls. This is going to be so cool! Pics to follow!
